M3 Example Uses

Problem:

Sulphur Hexafluoride gas (SF6) is leaking from pipework connectors

Solution:
Use M3CollarCast to seal connectors which are leaking or show risk of leaking – without the need to de-gas the system

Problem:

Component repair or replacement is impractical due to accessibility, cost or remaining operational life

Solution:
Use M3Spray or M3CollarCast to extend the life of components – either avoiding replacement or buying time until the next planned outage
Easily reapply as required over time, to address ongoing fatigue issues and extend component life

Problem:

Immediate, emergency leak recovery is required

Solution:
Use M3Spray for instant leak recovery, buying time for planned repairs or replacement of equipment, at which point M3 alloy seals can be removed easily

Problem:

Preventive maintenance of industrial pipework is necessary

Solution:
Use M3CollarCast to rapidly secure and shield pipe weak spots (such as a failing joint or flange), with a protective, preventive seal

Problem:

In-service repair is needed on connectors and joints – but equipment cannot be taken offline

Solution:
Use M3CollarCast to seal against the flowing leak while the plant is operational, without the cost implications or downtime associated with unscheduled stoppages

Problem:

A short-term repair is needed, which doesn’t change future replacement or decommissioning plans

Solution:
Use M3Spray or M3CollarCast to extend operational life, later removing the M3 alloy seal for component replacement or planned decommissioning
Where practicable – reuse the seals
